Wolf is attracted to people more powerful than him, who are likely to do him favors in return for his services: drow queens and priestess, the High Queen-under-the-Mountain’s only son (Mz.BH herself is too savvy to fall for Wolf)…head of his people’s most popular pantheon most definitely qualifies as someone he’d be into! Arachne has some sort of insane status that lets her be somewhat casual with royalty…and even gods, but Wolf might have finally attracted someone dangerous…the little him-bo is lucky if he doesn’t end up webbed up with little hungry demi-gods implanted in him!
If YAFGC was more of a film-noir, and less of a dramedy, I bet more readers would recognize Wolf for exactly what he is…he’s a social climbing fem-fatale…except the R63/spear counterpart, ’cause drow (not that it isn’t a damn good job for a guy, IRL…just not so much in classic movies); I haven’t seen his stock role done so well in a loooong time.
Lolth has her priorities straight.
Lucky for Wolf he isn’t 😛
…And Wolf is well aware of his value in the hierarchy.
He is probably bi, or at least hetero-flexible
He is a drow male. He is whatever he is told to be. 😛
Wolf’s Career lives on!
He's probably at his peak here. How much higher could he get, sleeping his way up, than the goddess in chief?

Eventually Arachne’s status is actually explained, and it even makes sense!
wolfs life in a nut shell
Yeah, he’s still got it. He knows it too, you can see it in his smug expression in the last panel.
Praised be Wolf’s butt then.
