There were hints in early arcs, but this one really nails it down through repetition: I’m now certain one of the biggest reasons she travels with Ben is that she finds his outraged reactions hilarious.

Someone: "Admit it! You keep him around because he makes such funny faces when he’s angry, don’t you?"
Ben: "WHAT? How dare you!"
Marion: "Oh, I would be doing dear Ben a great disservice if I didn’t point out that he is also very competent and useful in his role as my herald and assistant."
Ben: "There! You see!" (long pause) "Waitaminute… you said ‘also’."
Marion: "Tee hee hee hee!"
