That being said, these drow infantry all have shields to block the arrows, but they’ll have to lift them high for that, since the Redcaps seem to have found high angled shooting positions (odd geography for a cave interior, actually, but never mind that). Of course, if they lift their shields high to block arrows, they’re opening up their bodies to spears from the orc group on the ground.

Their armour looks good enough that it's kind of odd they are even *using* shields, actually. It's not a coincidence that shields vanished in favour of two-handed weapons as plate harness appeared. There's precious little that a shield would protect you from that plate armour wouldn't.
See, this is why drow rarely deploy in battalions.
This is why hardly ANY modern army deploys in tightly grouped infantry formations.
