Just how many Dark Mistresses ARE there? Gorgons are powerful, but they are NOT able to just slaughter their way through armies. Where are the Orcish mages? Troops? I thought there were thousands of orcs in the Mountain!
Wait, why would Aggie give the crown to Celena? Is it because she knows that whom ever is wearing it when Arachne and co return will be brutally slaughtered, and then killed?
Actually, it’s a stroke of genius on multiple levels.
As you said, Glon and Arachne won’t like the new developments, and will likely target Celena first, shifting the crosshairs away from herself.
OTOH, Celena herself is very ambitious and would continue to oppose her if she wasn’t given this position of power to both occupy and mollify her.
On another note, I hope the other monsters rally to rescue Maula before she is captured – Bob, Gren, Cuddles, Anancy and her roomie, the new Drow queen, maybe even Sittica, Yapp and Glimmy.
Them of course, but I’d actually like to see the humans and elves take part large part on the rescue. They respect Mrs Bloodhand most of them and their priests and paladins should have some magic that is quite effective against the gorgons and dark mistresses.
No, apart from the Duke, most humans and elves would be happy for the ‘monsters’ to wipe each other out, and then go in and clean out those who remain, Mrs Bloodhand included
Is there somebody who also think in the end Celena will turn agents Ranna, her old self was a good priest of Ch’Thier and she did resisted the Dark Mistress convention, only after "divine intervention" from Ranna did she break. There are some part of here old self left because she did not jump on the idea to become a Gorgon, and hence more power/status.
Ch’Thier should give her a visit or vison, and that can be played out for drama, what have I done, and I enjoyed doing it. I do not deserve forgiveness/salvation, hence I will continue the dark path to ensure that I am without redemption.
HAHAHA good work in reintroduce a 9 year old character, Agaera the Gorgon, is one of the first characters in yafgc, obviously hair fashion (snake fashion) have change…..
Same here, originally thought she looked weird, still trying to figure out how her jaw works (don’t believe have ever seen her with her mouth closed, and don’t mean that in a bad way!!)

I suspect there might have been some inside help. Remember at least some of the orcs are less than thrilled at Glon’s lineage — just a guess.
Thought most of them were taken out after the Coup D’Drow (that was when we saw Jone in charge of a special level of the Orcish Afterlife
Nice interaction between Maula and Gaggia. I hope that Glon twigs to something being wrong when Gaggia does not catch up with them.
