I’m only going to say this once. Kill Cadugan, and I will find you and I will kill you. (I’m talking about the curse, ofc)
At first was thinking you were making a request 🙁
I thought that romantic unrequited love was supposed to stimulate poets and songwriters to new heights. Another popular notion down the drain due to Rich. That, or Thomas was much worse than I thought…
Yes, Thomas is that bad… or worse 😛
The poor guy.
But Runt deserves some happiness, too. And it’s Alaria’s right to choose who she wants to be with.
I’ve only known the song trick to work once…
For Eric Clapton to snatch George Harrison’s wife from him (Layla).
Better than "My blood boils like malaria."
t!
Personally feel bad for Runt: he has been manipulated by that charlatan Eddy, just so he could get away from his brother
For sure, may the True King Fang eventually obtains his rightful throne.
Yeah, at least give Fang the chance to abdicate, dirty stinking racists!!
Fang would be king for five minutes, see a butterfly and chase it off a cliff while singing recipes for cat and dog meatballs. I think we’re probably better off.
Cat & dog meatballs, you say?
*gasp*
With Fang’s power of serendipity, that would perform the ritual summoning of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, who would swoop in & save his disciple from a fatal fall!
Eddy was the only person who said the person who pulled the axe from the rock would be the next king. No one else agreed to that. Where did Eddy get the sole authority to make that decision?
If Eddy does have the authority, then why doesn’t he have just as much authority to say he’s declaring it null and void even after someone has pulled the axe from the rock?
Even though Runt did not pull the axe from the rock, he did lead the combined armies into battle. He was recognized as the leader of those armies. At the end of the battle Karak admitted defeat and threw down the crown at Runt’s feet. Runt is the true king of Elegrost by victory in battle.
T-Chall has a point, he did win the kingdom via combat which I recall being a valid method of gaining one a kingdom (or queendom) in feudal societies.
He was only at the head of that army (and still a runt of a kid at the time) because Eddy put him there, could have been anybody (as long as they were human)
Runt also led the rescue of the High Elves from The Black Mountain. It was his idea to include Cadugan as, in Runt’s words, "The finest example of harmony possible between elf and man." It wasn’t Eddy who put those words into Runt’s mouth.
After the rescue the queen of the Wood Elves recognized Runt for his bravery and his kindness. She then proposes a formal alliance between the elves of the Wyldwood and Runt’s household. That was not Eddy’s doing, that was the decision of the Queen.
Baron Elwood then, in his words, "swears allegiance to our future king." Both the Baron and the Queen of their own free will, there was no magic used on them by Eddy’s, declared they would accept Runt’s leadership in the battle, and as the future king of Elegrost.
Yes, Runt was "a runt of a kid" at the time. So what? He showed that he was intelligent, brave, compassionate, and could think well under pressure. Those are some excellent attributes for a ruler.
Except that he. is. a. FALSE! Ruler!!
Doesn’t matter how good he has become, he is still not the rightful ruler, Fang is!!
Fang was the one who fulfilled Eddy’s stupid little ‘prophecy’, not to mention that Bugbear who actually won the ‘real’ contest, and don’t personally recall him doing anything bad or evil other than being a ‘monster’ until the humans decided to overthrow him
I am happy for Alaria and Runt (about time he found a mate, now that the potion effects have been removed), but poor Thomas… he did not deserve to end up obsessed and hiding in a bottle, though I doubt that was Alaria’s fault.
For that last panel, I can’t help but put those words to the song "Lydia, oh Lydia, say have you met Lydia? Lydia the tattooed lady.."
