Chapter: The Serpent Awakes
Characters: Cadugan, Caelin, Charles Hunter, Glon Smitharm/Bloodhand, Lucas Greyfort, Princess Shaija of the Red Orcs
Location: Gnoll Hyeeshat
While it’s great that Glon saved Shaija, it just feels like too much for me
Perhaps he is fulfilling his destiny as his mother’s heir and his god’s tool.
He was deemed too hormonal to be effective, but it turns out the trigger was emotional.
Not really… there’s plenty of precedent for him being a bad-ass warrior. He just doesn’t show it much, because he’s more likely to be goofing off.
Glon finally living up to his mothers abilities. Bloodhand blood is strong.
Now I want to see angry Glon go up against Jone.
Angry Glon is incredibly tough, but Jone is seriously OP.
His power comes from the same place though. The only difference between them is that Glon has had a better life, so most of the time is too chill to get really angry. When he *does* though…
Almost forgot about Charles tagging along (be interesting to see how he managed) and he has some interesting tricks up his sleeve!
Simply, he’s a rogue, think about it, he have been sneaking all this time, haven’t got caught, picked the lock, he is a rogue and a good one at it.
Wow. Someone on the Internet that properly spells ‘rogue’. I think I need to lay down.
I think you should LIE down. :neener-neener:
Yep… they didn’t like him when he is angry…
Well, he IS already kinda green…
I only have one word. DAYUM!!!!
This is easily one of my favourite strips of all time.
– The suprise help from somebody most readers would have forgotten was there.
– The characteristic way all of them react to his presence; character dynamics being meticulously preserved when lesser storytellers would have made Everything OK.
– Glon’s rage, the reminder of who he is & where he comes from…
– Prompted by, as always, love, which has been been the strongest force in this universe from the beginning.
That last panel is heart-wrenching.
t!
Ooo wait, ‘girls’, as in ‘plural’? Somehow don’t believe The Cad was referring to Dag, who else did they pick up on their way?
Or does he think that that is where Yarrick took Arachne and Lizzie?
No, that’s where the gnolls took Arachne and Liz, as well as Shaija. Yarrick took it from there, but they don’t know that yet.
No, Shaija was still behind bars when Dag and Charlie found Arachne & Lizzie gone
Remember that when Dagmar was showing Ranna/Charlotte around the prison, Dagmar said she’d separated the male and female prisoners. So Cadugan hasn’t seen Arachne or Elzear’bith since that happened and doesn’t know that they’ve been set free.
But The Cad said they were taken to the torture chambers, Dag had no reason to torture them before the escape
He’s just showing his Chaotic Badass alignment.
Where’s Glon? Just follow the trail of bodies. His momma would be so proud.
His mother? Should Glon end up perishing during this adventure he will probably enter the Eternal Battleground to be greeted and welcomes by his half-siblings, having proven himself to be a true Bloodhand!
… and should Ranna at that point still hold court in the Orcish Afterlife I expect her to be in for a rude awakening!
Hell, imagine if both Jone and Glon died at the same time… I don’t think she’d stand a chance.
Now imagine the damage Glon would have done if he’d remembered to pick up a sword during his rampage.
Nah, that would have simply slowed him down
True, he would have had to swing it.
Yeeeeeaaaaahhhh, angering Glon was a BAD idea…
Harming someone Glon loves is a REALLY BAD idea.
That’s… quite a trail of bodies.
Someone always dies on these ‘adventures’, is it Shaija?
Love the Glon rage.
It’s clear that few-to-none can stand in his way. Heck, even stepping out of his path & hoping that he merely passes by isn’t assured either…

Glon continues to be one of my favs. <3
Messing with Glon’s wives unlocks his inner Jone.
Holy shit, he hasn't even bothered to pick up a weapon. Wonder what the rest of them will think when they come across the trail of bodies he's left in his wake?
I just realized. Gruuumsh and Ch'Thier restored him to life because they could not decide who should claim his soul. Their plan appears to have been that next time he dies one of them will take it. But now he has already outlived one of the two. The best-laid schemes of gods and men…
