Drawn by Ron Bender (Well, when they aren’t being drawn by me, that is…)
Bob isn’t far wrong there Gren
Not sure if it’s an error, but you have tagged twice as many characters as appear on this page
Not an error. I just didnt’ look too closely at how many of the characters present actually appear.
Okay, always figured it was the characters who actually appear on the page, not just in the area
Generally speaking, I have enjoyed this comic less during the crossovers. It always seems to me that since you, Rich, know the crossover characters already, you find them inherently interesting in a prima facie fashion, and are therefore less likely to give them proper introductions that help me know them and – more importantly – find them interesting.
This crossover has been no exception, and Bob & Gren’s exchange (in which he is certainly giving voice to *my* feelings!) demonstrates that perfectly, because it’s a simple 2 lines but it has the weight of ten years(!) of familiarity behind it.
I am not opposed to crossovers; I’m not a fundamentalist. But the strips still have to work as YAFCG strips, and the onus is on the new characters (through you) to work themselves into the world.
I’m looking forward to knowing who these new arrivals are.
t!
Were there other crossovers? I can remember a bunch of guest characters, but I thought this is the first real crossover. And as such, with that Rick made me wanting to read through a bunch of other comics…. Only if I would have the time…
Yeah, apart from a few guest characters (which were typically only for a single page), the closest to a ‘crossover’ so far prior to this had to have been the ‘Dungeon Keeper’ arc that introduced Jais and the Dark Mistresses (and Ibkis)
Shaija, not Ibkis.
Hmm, thought Ibkis was the red orc, but not doubting you (do know what she looks like, but always have trouble with names 🙁 )
