Chapter: Yet Another Fantasy Gamer Crossover
Location: "Eddie's Retreat" the Magic Tower
Scale, Hank, Handler and Gertrude are all visiting us from “Cowboys and Crossovers”
http://cowboysandcrossovers.thecomicseries.com/comics/
Drawn by Ron Bender (Well, when they aren’t being drawn by me, that is…)
At least _someone_ knew how to shoot, and which parts to aim for (shame there is nothing in Jone’s head to be harmed by the head shot :P)
Bets on Meegs in the last shot 😀
Meegs is possible, but it could also be Eddy, as he was in position and just looking for a clear shot, or Bob, once he got to the top of the tower. If THAT doesn’t end Jone, it would be amusing if Meegs, Eddy, and Bob all hit her at once. And then someone has to get down there and heal Scale, before she loses too much blood.
Yeah, obviously it will be the senile old goat, but it would have been cooler if Meegs, once again, saves the day
Looks like a double strike so both Meegs and Eddy.
Especially if Bob had hit Jone with his disintegration ray. Kind of hard to come back from vapor.
Not enough time for Scale to use her left hand to get her other revolver?
Her right arm is out of commission
I stand by my comment for the previous page.
kind of assuming that Eddie is responsible for that last panel #8 …. and I have some confidence that Lewie would take Eddie in a Mage Battle.
Oooooh. THAT would be a most interesting cage match! Any chance of that? … some day … maybe ?
I have done weak hand shooting drills in the past getting you weapon out of a holster meant for the the other hand is tough. I imagine it would be even harder if you were going into shock at the same time. Fortunately the shooting instructor didn’t make us do that.
Yeah, weak hand draw is the one major downside to strong-side carry. As much as I dislike appendix carry, it does have the advantage of making your weapon accessible to both hands.
Crossdraw works pretty well for that for carrying openly. And for a fictional character, it just looks pretty damn cool.
No hit penalty for shooting into melee now…
"Ah-ah! I know what you’re thinkin’: ‘did she fire six shots or only five?’ Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I’ve kinda lost track myse- oh crap…"
… where’s the "upvote" button for comments when you need it! 😀
So… I thought Jone was revived, as in alive. She is undead? Self-aware and intelligent, so a revenant of some sort?
That looks like a nice, "healthy" disintegrate ray there. As it affects objects, and Jone, being undead, counts as an object, there should be a nice response… and only divine intervention would bring her back at this point.
More like a nice and classic Lightning Bolt.
Y’know, I con’t help, even now, but feel sorry for poor Jone. From an abused daughter of an orc in human lands, then kind of spurred on by the orc god and a mob, now a possessed puppet of Ranna. The only person who seemed to actually be nice to her was Glon, and that was pretty short.
No, there is nothing to indicate she is a puppet of anyone, let alone Ranna
There’s plenty to indicate that Jone’s being controlled by Ranna:

http://yafgc.net/comic/2834-a-spiritual-visitation/
http://yafgc.net/comic/2835-my-name-is-jone/
just one more reason Ranna needs to bite it.
You forget one very important fact: not even her God, who basically created her, could control her, all Ranna did was release an out-of-control monster (in a world of monsters, that’s saying something)
I think your case is more a matter of interpretation. In particular, pages 2834 & 2835 could be Jone escaping from Ranna just as much as it could be her being sent back by Ranna.
Given the story of Jone: Half-Orc in it’s entirety, an equal interpretation (at this point in time) is that Jone has become a minor goddess unto her own right. She has her own somewhat substantial cult following, and numerous souls sent into the afterlife in her name (even followers by her own hand). She has plenty of "manna," so to speak, of her own toward her own divinity.
Even if Ranna did send her back (pg 2834), recall that Jone had demonstrated quite some independence from Gruuumsh. That seed (especially her split spirit between humans & orcs) could be the leverage to resist being a mere "tool" of Ranna. Although created by Gruuumsh, half of Jone’s spirit is potentially due Ch’Thier herself (the entire basis for Glon to have been sent back from The Other Side).

Ranna’s consumption of Gruuumsh merely released Jone (or, maybe, Gruuumsh may have, just before being consumed?) from previous ties & obligations so she could become whatever she was meant to become.
The Slayer of Ranna, perhaps ..? Amongst other titles.
For anyone who hasn’t read up on Jone, start with the Bloodfire arc here:
Yups, Gruumsh had little if any control over Jone: recall when he manifested on the Mortal Plane, and she stabbed her sword through his foot? And then proceeded to annihilate Gruumsh’ best fighters (oh right, you linked to that part)
Also remember when those two orc traitors to the Bloodhand ended up in the Afterlife? Guess who was waiting for them? She had her own little corner of Orc Hell (well, Hell for the other Orcs anyway :P)
But do you really want Jone to kill Ranna?
Because in a lot of mythos whomever kills a god replaces that god. So if that’s the case in YAFGC Universe, Jone killing Ranna would make her the Major Goddess of the Orcs… and whatever else Ranna has eaten in the interim.
Then how else are they going to stop Ranna? o_O
Well…. somehow Ranna seems to have eaten ALL other gods but her Sister. So if they both kill each other in some mega-battle, then All Gods Must Die.
(heh, couldn’t help it)
And that would leave the world bereft of magic… or would it?
Well, that would explain that Time Diggers flash-forward, to a time without magic
*runs through the various shots*
1. Heart shot (previous comic), should have dropped Jone if she wasn’t undead.
2. Spleen hit. Why does the spleen always get hit?
3. Lower lung, possible diaphragm hit. If it did damage the diaphragm, that’s a sloooow death via suffocation… If Jone wasn’t undead.
4. Can’t tell from the damage on Jone if it hit or not. Given the range and how good Scale is with her pistol, likely it hit if not taking in impending shock, fear and pain.
5. Disarming shot.
6. Glancing Head Shot. That’s going to bleed like a bitch if not on an undead, likely to cause concussion effects and internal bleeding given the force of impact.
THERE we go – now she’s all by herself and easily hit!
(won’t work for long, but still)
t!
