2959 Sword Vs Six Shooter
on September 21, 2016
Scale, Hank, Handler and Gertrude are all visiting us from “Cowboys and Crossovers”
http://cowboysandcrossovers.thecomicseries.com/comics/
Drawn by Ron Bender (Well, when they aren’t being drawn by me, that is…)
Hopefully Hank’s going to pistolwhip the second attacker as a gunshot might make the whole situation worse when the Rannites come investigating the strange noise.
The 21 Foot rule in action I presume
At that distance dagger beats both sword and six shooter.
The problem with six-shooter is that it can only shot six times.
Unless it’s the infamous "Seven Shot Six-shooter" from "The Villain"
Or the camera view cuts away from him, even for just a second or two…A gunslinger can reload really fast if they’re off-screen.
😉
Damn Hank! What a badass!
I hope he doesn’t shoot that. It’ll give away their position.
Because generally fighting goblins is a stealthy endeavor. Especially when they’re yelling. 😛
I’m pretty sure the Rannites would be able to detect a battle like this, even without Hank firing his gun.
Less style than Sir Idries, but same good result 🙂
Given how smooth the action is in the first three panels – you’re exceptionally good at that – it feels sudden to see the gun in his punching hand in Panel 4, especially with the other Goblin around there somewhere.
t!
Looks like someone brought a sword to a gunfight.
Mythbusters busted "Never bring a knife to a gun fight." Hand-held knife vs. gun in holster at less than 20 feet or so, gun-guy gets stabbed. With a thrown knife, the gun wielder can dodge the knife while his bullet is killing the knife thrower.
Mind you, Hank has his gun in hand, not still in the holster. This might make a difference.
It makes *all* the difference. The "knife beats gun within 21 feet" thing assumes that the attacker is already running, and includes the time to draw the gun. From a police retention holster, not a quick-draw holster. Also assumes that the cop doesn't sidestep the charging knife wielder. Clearly none of this is remotely applicable here.
Even is he does shoot, how would the Rannites know what it was?
"What’s that strange noise? Let’s go investigate."
Also the High Elf has heard gunshots before.
We don’t know how far it is to the rannites.
Let’s wait for Bk’s next page ☺
Where does he carry the gun while it’s not in use? He can draw it quickly, but doesn’t seem to wear a holster or belt or whatever. Maybe a pistol with the "materializing" enchantment ;).
… I want one of those!
