Black Mountain! We got a Mistress in orbit! I repeat, We got a Mistress in orbit!
Who’s Town – we have a problem (we can’t fly)
Dark Mistress (if conscious/alive) at this moment
"Oh High and Powerful Ranna, I who am a loyal and loving worshipper of your Greatness, dearly requests a miracle or wish to be granted. My wish is SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVE ME!!!!!!!!!!!"
A Mistress in Distress?
And while everyone is distracted the Elf sneaks round and grabs Miss Scale while the Mistress lands on Hank knocking him out.
Round 2 …
I like the way you’re thinking. But perhaps that would be too much? 😉
Ah, the inevitability of the two-front war.
(Maula seems to have let the DM take a few steps back, even. Cunning.)
I love that there’s no sound. It means we can imagine whichever one we want (I’m currently thinking POW!). And you know, that power of the imagination thing makes the sound seem LOUDER.
t!
So, the sound effect got missed in the comic, but it’s still good…It became the title instead.
Or Gaggia hit the Mistress so hard, the sound effect was left behind.
Left behind far enough that it just barely made it to the text space where the title goes…
😉
I didn’t say it got missed; I said it was a choice on the part of the writer.
t!
I’m imagining the Smash Bros. baseball bat sound.
Gaggia is so fast, the sound just hasn’t reached us yet.
I love that you use the acronym "DM" for this particular scenario… as if a player just ruined the DM’s perfect plot for a hostage scenario. "Oh yeah, my orc has a strength of 25. And she’s got monk levels." Sorry… I know it means dark mistress but it was too funny to pass up. Or it’s just late. One of the two.
"My Orc monk also uses her Janni’s Tempest feat to bullrush the Mistress." *rolls die* "Sweet! Natural 20!" *rerolls* "Confirmed!!"
"Bullrush her? In what direction?"
"Straight up."
Surely the proper sound effect here is PAF! Gaggia looks exactly like an indomitable Gaul punching a Roman while under the influence of Getafix’s magic potion.
… you win the prize for best reference! 😀
Ils sont fous, les DMs!
Shouldn’t that be:
Ils sont fous, les MN! (Maîtresses Noires)
don’t forget TCHOC! or POC!
Simply put; *KAPOWIE!!!*
Please feel free to include any of these sound effects, at your discretion:

Gaggia is my favourite of Glon’s wives.
This only confirms that feeling.
"I just wanted you to face me so she could get behind you."
She made the right choice. Better Gaggia behind you than Mrs. B. At leas it was a clean death.
Congratulations on turning to face the big threat while disregarding the smaller, angrier and closer threat behind you. I think this is how several famous battles were turned…
It is the essence of the flanking maneuver, the smaller more agile threat attacks from the rear while the enemy faces the primary threat.
Although in this case it was odd because the Dark Mistress saw the ‘small’ threat first, and was then flanked by the larger threat and turned towards that.. forgetting that Gaggia is still a significant threat in her own right.
The warning should have been taken by Gaggia’s impression when the DM faced her… you should NOT turn your back to anyone with that face on! 😮
Also thinking of this now… The Mistress forgot one or two fundamental things in this scenario.
One: Killing Scale with two angry Orcs that close would immediately end in her messy death.
Two: The good guys in this immediate scenario aren’t Good.
POW!
Nice one, Princess!
BANG!
ZOOM!
TO THE MOON!
Soon as I saw panel 2, I thought exactly this. 🙂
Gadgia rolled a Crit Success on that one. I was only half-right – it wasn’t Maula that booted the Dark Mistress back to the Black Mountain, it was Gadgia of all orcs. You go, girl!
Have I ever mentioned that Gaggia is by far my favourite of Glon’s wifes?
A true scholar and fighter.
Go Go Gagga. The Black Mountain fun and Games are sure to return.
In the words of the Immortal Harry Kalas, , "She’s Outta Here!!!!!"
Classic Astérix punch! Love it.
Caught between an orc and a hard place
Why does this slim, long woman make me think of Obelix?
