Do I remember right, the orcs, goblins, harpies and the chimera were on the upper layers, and the drow, beholders and dark mistresses on the lower ones? Does anyone know, where were the rest of the people? Such like the witches, gnolls, mind flayers, and people like Cuddles, Tara, Gimmi and so on?
I know most- if not all- of them were fighting, and therefore might be somewhere else than where they lived when the Mountain exploded, but it would have made sense to fight near to the area they inhabited…
It would be intriguing to come up with a list of how many characters (not extras) have died—and how many have become more important characters AFTER they died!
Your memory is remarkable! That’s a pretty good layout of the Mountain. The witches (if you mean the Hags like Annie the Annis’ friends) were from outside the Mountain. Annie was hanging out with Maula at the time of the attack. The Gnolls were spread around with the Orcs and Goblins. The Mind Flayers are from much lower down even than the Drow. Cuddles, Tara and Gimmi are all from the Danger Zone. (DANGER ZOONE!!!)

Though I must admit, it’s not too difficult to remember such things- As for one thing, some of it is rather logical to sort out. As for an other, I’ve read the most parts of most of the storyarcs more often than I could count.
You see, sometimes I just look up one strip for whatsoever reasons, than get stuck reading it further till I realise I should be doing something else… 🙂
Not to forget, the patriarch of a large family with potential new conflicts (the other missuses might not share Shaija’s thirst for revenge). And Glon’s mixed blood situation makes not only his own but his children’s position politically unstable until he can either win over the dissenters, or crush them.
The main problem with Glon being accepted was not his blood, but the fact that he was raised by humans. I think he’s proven by now that he has the orcs’ best interests at heart.
I’m waiting for those goblins to realize they can simply walk away from Hojja’s mom. Or just part of her… I mean, seriously, she’s acting like she’s an Empress in the Forbidden City, when they’re actually in a "wandering monarch and refugee subjects" situation. That’s when the monarch who keeps and retains the title is the one who can lead the others by example in working their butts off.
