Well, I always found Meegs to be somewhat opportunistic, but not someone who would switch sides easily. And I would guess, that only a few hours have past since they got kidnapped, and that involves the time getting them here. That being said, her story could be true. But than again, I don’t know how much she can endure torture, and there are some very, very talented Mistresses, and something is definitely off here…
To sum it up, Smilley might be right.
If the coat was hiding a mistress outfit, her hands would be black latex because apart from the hood the mistress outfits are all in one. It’s not easy for us to tell in a black and white comic, but Bob should able to spot that.
Why lead him into a trap, when she clearly just trapped him? She just rendered him helpless. Freeing him and leading him into a more mundane trap where he can then defend himself makes about no sense at all.
As if the leathers would be mandatory. She may be converted and still dress normally. Alternatively, the robe is only thing she has and she’s naked under it.
I’m torn about this…
1. Meegs could be telling the truth about using her magic to escape, and she grabbed a robe on the way out hence her clothing. And doesn’t know there’s a trap waiting.
2. If the Rannites had stripped them of the possessions, which we’re seen Rannites do to other prisoners, how did she escape without her glasses which would have been taken? We know Meegs is practically blind without them, but there she is wearing them, so how did she get them?
If this does end with a Mistress trap, my bet is less Meegs is a willing accomplice and more they’ve already turned Gren and are waiting with her and some other leather clad Hobgoblins for the inevitable rescue attempt.
Meegs is very self-confident and not easily influenced by others, as well as being more than a little selfish and extremely disobedient. This should make her basically impossible to convert. Which doesn’t mean that she’s actually on the side of good. On the other hand…. she’s also easy to impersonate.
I think they got Meegs. She’s wearing a wig to hide the snakes and the dark glasses so she doesn’t turn anyone to stone straignt away.
Basically she’s leading them into a trap.
Also…She appears to be wearing a kimono. Does this world have a Japan analogue?
I don’t think she’s a gorgon yet, but I have the feeling that coat is hiding a Mistress outfit. Her getting away is just too convenient.

Also the mistress outfits go all the way up the neck and Meeg’s neck is not entirely covered by the coat at the front.
Good point, was not thinking of that! But I still think that something is off.
Oh honey that robe is nothing like a kimono.
Good call. You were right ;o)
Why do I hear Marvin the Depressed Android coming out of Grell’s beak?
The dome-like shape of his head? I mean, he hasn’t necessarily got a brain the size of a planet, but at least no one has asked him to open doors yet.

In lieu of Ackbar, we got our Grell…
I’m thinking trap to. It’s just too…convenient
I see Grell has given up trying to talk sense into Bob. Can’t say I blame him.
Also, put me down for Meegs Is Acting Suspiciously.
t!
I’ve got a bad feeling about this. Those robes aren’t Meegs’s style, looks like she’s hiding something… like a set of dominatrix leathers.
As if the leathers would be mandatory. She may be converted and still dress normally. Alternatively, the robe is only thing she has and she’s naked under it.
PS: And note that just because it’s trap doesn’t mean Meegs know about it.

If Meegs could capture them with magic, why would she have to trick them?
