Maybe not use ALL of it, but they can take the powder from her, then give it someone else. And they would kill another innocent people, just because she defied them.
Sorry for the possibly stupid question, but: Did I miss something? Who is she that the Rannites allow her to oppose them so openly without retribution (even if that opposition is futile)? Why does she get away with talking back to them that way?
Because it’s more fun for them to torment her by forcing her to obey them than it is to break or torture her (for now) into a loyal Rannite, or simply kill her. She’s allowed to back talk because they get a kick out of how powerless she is.
Alas that is so often the weakness of evil. They can forgo sensible solutions in favor of solutions that are more sadistic, and they can never resist a good monologue for essentially the same reason. To rub the good guy’s face in it. Even though doing so usually is what gives the good guys time to save the day.
I think, in this case, systematic demoralization is very much a tactical move. They’ve identified C’hrynne as a potential dissident, and are engineering situations to demoralize her, make her question her own integrity and principles, and keep her mind clouded with a web of shame and disgust. The more cycles C’hrynne spends on her troubled conscience and rationalization of why the path chosen was the lesser of evils, the less time she has to meaningfully resist the Rannite leadership.
It’s rather insidious, really, and surprisingly effective.
The gorgon has a sword too. It’s never so simple. She’d telegraph if she was reaching for her sword, which gives the gorgon time to draw too. Plus, two on one, that mistress will just tackle her at half-draw and humiliate her further.
Though if she does achieve it, the Rannites will probably be torn between offering her a rank or seriously slow tormenting death. Tbh, gonna end up the second way when she spits in someone’s face, soooo.
Where the CEO of the company tells the disgruntled masses, "Leaks like the one we had this week, they hurt the entire company, and if that happens, all your friends and co-workers will be out of a job."
She should use only enough powder to work, and save the rest for retribution against dark forces. No matter how vile undeath is to her. Who knows how permanent the wakefulness is… best to handle it with caution.
I don’t think the powder is carefully weighted to match the number of heads. Most likely, she is supposed to not use up all of it. Either they will want the rest back or tell her to keep it and wait for more heads.
… yes she should totally store some for future use.
Till she justs keeps it and doesn’t use it.

No problem, wake some dead folks in an area you know who hate Raanites, then have an entire army to go kick their asses…
Oh I can’t wait till she is able to kill a few of them and do the same to them
Considering Ranna holds much of the afterlife.. Being a jeff dunham puppet might not be the worst thing. Susie severed head.. On a stiick!
Atleast until one of them develops an itchy nose anyway.
Or an itchy ass they can never scratch.
Severed heads don’t have asses, unless you mean… phantomass?
Yeah, a phantomass. What a pain in the, erm, phantomass that would be!

Because they think it’s hilarious.
😀 I guess I can live with that.

Laugh it up, ladies. With the luck some of the rannites have, it might be their heads ending on a stake at some point.
We can only hope she saves some of that powder for just such a contingency.
I hope that none of the dead who get itchy noses, as happens in this comic, has a cold…
She has a sword, she could kill her, chop her head, put it on a stake and wake up with the others and say "nobody told me I can’t kill her"

Y’know just telling me it wakes the dead, I’d find the greatest warriors of this wo- oh wait, most of them are terrible because it’s for laughs.
I’ve been at that meeting.

t!
she could instruct them to sing annoying anti ranite songs
Your day will come, hissy-hair. ?
Rich is good at making insta-hatable characters 😀

Make a Gump. You know you want to.
Wish I could upvote/plus-one this Oz reference!
A dumb question. If that gorgon needs to go to get her hair done, which barber would try it? It’s basically like reaching in a snake pit.
Well your head be among them? Because that would be worth it.
Now it’s 3000 hells?
geez…
This world’s characters truly have no idea how many hells exists.
And none have mentioned how many heavens.
That’s one of the longer running jokes, yes.
Highest number yet, I think.
