It’s a funny point.
Although it does seem the peeping was just there to lure folks in – around Strip 5 or 6, it already became considerably more than that.

Well, boobs on the first page of the comic was an effective way to draw readers into the story, that’s for certain. Come for the boobs, stay for the story…And more of occasional boobs with some @$$ too.
Despite the veneer of monsters being the main focus, the story is still pretty good at exploring the human condition. Not all people have to be human. Human beings aren’t the only *social* creatures after all, even in our own world; for only one mere example out of many, even a pack of wolves have a society.
😉
When Ranna starts gobbling up gods then people will find something else to worship one supposes.
Oh gosh I love this guy Trevor, he sees the diplomatic necessity that "monsters" have when they band together, the possible positive effects of negotiations with the dwellers of shadows.
Well, there is likely a Hoard of oppressed undead rising any minute now outside, so… Can you imagine if Trevor talked them into following Glon? o.O
If Glon was once a cat’s paw of the gods, perhaps now a single cat’s paw can knock him back on track, and remind him that he is a BLOODHAND, and he should behave in a way to bring honor and prosperity to his family, his people, and his mother’s memory, be she alive or dead. And hopefully crush Rana into dust along the way, of course.
… Um, no, not oppressed, or no, not rising, or some other meaning of no in this instance? They could have been lying to her about the powder, but if you have solid evidence for no undead, please share?
I apologise for the brusqueness of my response; you didn’t deserve that.
It was prompted by two others, who seem to have failed to understand that this is a joke, and have decided they are qualified to determine the direction of this comic.
The backstabbing is on hold in the face of the greater enemy, namely Ranna. Evil is not stupid (necessarily anyway). The backstabbing will start again once some people are comfortable with their new position, or they see more to gain from it than banding together with Glon. At the moment it is Ranna, or Glon and pals, or hide.
Personally I think Trevor is overdoing. Glon isn’t even King, and I don’t think he has as much backup network as Trevor is claiming. Plus if much of that network has fallen to Ranna it is of no benefit.
It seems Glon, and thus Trevor, believe Maula deceased. We know otherwise…but perhaps they don’t.
How many resources remain…indeed, that’s quite the question, isn’t it? But whether it’s many or few left to stand with him, Trevor’s point that Glon has connections all over the map…well, that’s still impressive, and still a major advantage. Whether or not they’ll prove sufficient…well, I’m not clairvoyant, and i couldn’t say. Still…Glon has those connections, and that’s something that, perhaps, he needed to be nudged to remember.
I think Trevor is talking about lore spreading far and wide, in ways that haven’t necessarily been shown in this comic, but have always existed in the mind of the creator.

I think Trevor was talking about the half-breeds and other "mixed" people (and their sympathizers) all across the realm, who don’t feel to belong anywhere. Surely, Glon and Jone were not the only half-orcs, we know there are half-elves and half-halflings, and who knows which other species can cross-breed. I can well imagine, that their numbers are not small, that for them Glon is a symbol, and that they would help him anytime in anyway they can. It might be a shelter for a night, hiding some of his friends, a set of fresh clothes, giving further information, or signing up for a resistence army…
There are likely resistance networks everywhere that Ranna has conquered. Multiple, fractured groups who could *really do* with a unifying figure to lead the main resistance against the Rannites.
Someone order a stirring speech?
Now, how much or how long will it take to convince Glon?
In Panel 6 it looks like it’s working.
But then he goes back to feeling sorry for himself.

Does anyone else remember when this was about a beholder trying to peep out some nudity?
(Note: I LOVE THIS COMIC STRIP. This just occurred to me and made me laugh and I wanted to share.)

There’s also that one instance of Triple-boob when Gadgia’s explaining about the hidden Valley, a Shaman giving it by wild Magic 😉
The old, build em up trick. The pep talk with a dual purpose.
You mean Glon’s time in a veil and a loincloth actually gained him followers?
Imagine what it could do for you! 😀
I already have enough nightmares, thank you very much…. 😉
We already saw what it did for Wolf, the Drow…
:O

In the absence (or silence) of gods, mortals look to one another for examples of virtue. Less ‘worship,’ IMO, more ‘inspiration.’
Trevor you are awesome. Also with this speech, I think I can unironically say that this maybe the rise of a Horde.

But again, not you. Sorry.

I have a hard time reconciling this with the level of backstabbing that we saw back in the old days. But what the hell, if it gets Glon to man up.

Anybody else hearing the stirring orchestral score as Trevor orated

I am incredibly distracted how cute and pettable Trevor is. KITTY
