Oh, there are some wise mages out there, to be sure. But I think Eddy reminds us — and forgive me for using D&D terms, but it’s a useful framework here — that INT and WIS are two very different ability scores.
He should have multi-classed – wait, I can’t remember if that’s possible with mages and clerics. There’s one where you can cease one class and start another. Man, it’s been decades and I’ve forgotten how it works.
i think you can but it depends on the GM, ive played as a Cleric/druid before with the background excuse being that i was a cleric of a goddess of nature, but again, its upto the gm, cant go around having warlock/sorcerers running amok with UNLIMITED spellslots now can we?
I think the kid could be good king (despite the fact that it was Captain Fang who pulled that axe out) if he had some good advisors while growing up … and not mostly Eddy.
Fang is too much of a freelancer to do "king" for long. Or in other words: the touch of chaos that is Fang is fun in small doses but would be tiresome if there was too much of it.
If there were any gods still around in all this horror to appreciate the irony of this statement (I’m sure any that are are too busy being quiet as mice), I’m sure they’d laugh themselves sick over this development.
And yes, may all involved get back safe and sound.
Mind you, if Eddy had supported the "original candidate," Andy Gibb’s "Shadow Dancing" would be the kingdom’s new anthem, kneecaps would require a permit (or three particularly smooth river rocks), the color green would acquire the right to annex outside lands, and over a third of the population would be conscripted to the Special Emergency Council of Starfish Census for ten months out of the year.
With each monarch comes a host of unique challenges, but my goodness, would these challenges be…even more unique.
Not on Thursdays, though. Thursdays, we loudly censure weathervanes, and we’re not allowed to stop at extant ones; we must also censure ex-, and theoretically possible, weathervanes.
Thats true. But at least here are no "needless" deaths, unlike to some other stories. Here they tend to move the plot, contribute to character developments, or serve as comic effects, depending on who is dying and how…
That, however, won’t change the hope, that everyone will return in one piece.
Very good question Eddy. Let’s take a look at the histo- oh wow! It was some guy named “Eddy the Mage”! Wonder where he is now.
I was gonna say… Welp. Hindsight and all that.
Yup, he mage a mess of that one.
Mages – power of a prophet, without the foresight of one.

I mean, it was him, Fang, or Karak. You probably made the right decision overall.
However, Fang would be a much better king for us, if not Elegrost.

Oh…oh no. This foe is beyond all of them.
Holding quiet vigil for Awl, Turg and Narla to make it back safely and intact.
Well you’re the one who didn’t want "King Fang."
Yours! 😀
This wouldn’t have happened if Cap’n Fang had been king.

Well, this is an Awl-ful situation 😛
If Eddie had supported the original candidate this would not happen.
All hail the king Fang

And each day we’d be required to attend tree licking classes followed by a philosophical exploration of the deeper meaning of fish.

Initial thought: Turg riding to the rescue – this is gonna be AWEsome!
Next thought… this comic doesn’t shy away from Consequences.
t!
Yes. Exactly this.
Keeping vigil. Hoping. Bracing for tears.

Yours, dipshit.
I don't hate Eddy like some people do, but the irony here is pretty delicious.
