My wife acts the exact same way when I come home and act like that. LOL
It is called a hug. It is supposed to show affection and support.
And perceptive too.
Another reason to love YAFGC:
Written *by* an adult, *for* adults.
t!
Yeeeeaaahhh! Nyaah nya-NYAAAAAAAAHH!! Plppotptlplhhplphlpphllttt!
You tellum!
Now, now, enough of that, Rich. If you don’t stop, I’m turning the dragon around and we’re going right back home!
Smooth 😀
The wife has short hair?
She’s a halfling; she has short EVERYTHING. (Possibly including patience, once she hears Naomi’s answer.)
And while Naomi might not have done any adventuring in the gamer’s sense, it sounds like she DOES travel a lot. The implied ‘THIS time’ at the end of her wife’s question is clear from a thousand miles away…
The DeKyle’s travel to Tempul a lot. There’s this great Library….
I cannot help but observe here that a librarian with halfling-scale furniture, whose idea of hospitality involves tea, preserves, pipeweed if desired, a roaring fire and a long, involved conversation with little awareness of time’s passing…is possibly the single most halfling reception in Tempul. And then, there’s the Library around them….
Trevor’s occasional half-scale furniture items…his clothes…his personal effects, all halfling-scale where they can be, I’m sure…the librarian must have quite the need for halfling goods, too. Even setting aside the obvious personal reasons why Trevor would love the DeKyles, he has many practical reasons for maintaining contacts with halfling communities. it doesn’t surprise me at all that he might be known to them, even the ones with less interest in his work and the Library.
Loving this arc, Rich. Thank you again for keeping YAFGC going strong, all these years!
Awesome pic of Zac & Levena holding a gigantic axe & bow respectively.
That’s not how you spell suspicious. Is there some kind of name related pun in the title?
I suspect so.
Maybe it’s implying that Alys isn’t a Halfling and the gender orientation aspect is a slight misdirection. Maybe Rich keeps it vague enough that we see what we want to see, lol 😀
Or maybe I should learn to read Rich’s comments 😛
specious – misleading in appearance, especially misleadingly attractive.
I wouldn’t have noticed that.
"This is for the greater good!"
"Greater good?? I am your WIFE! I’m the greatest good you’re ever gonna get!"
I also dearly love that Alys isn’t going to give her a fight about it.
t!
…MAYBE not going to give her a fight. Alys is clearly accustomed to Naomi’s unanticipated journeys; that’s just a thing that happens when you marry into an eccentric family of mages. Taking their daughter to the battle lines of an Age-shattering magical war, though, may require further explanation.
Exactly. She’s read the Hug Of Departure. And isn’t going to fight that.
The NEXT part, well, she can’t agree to what her cuddlebunny hasn’t brought up yet.
t!
"But darling, it’ll be EDUCATIONAL!"
This one panel says so much, excellently done!
But…it’s two panels. 😀
Wow, she really does know her. Not "what did you do?" or "what do you want?", but "where are you going?".
