If she wants to hit the Road to Adventure, Ryann will have to time things carefully; the roads out of Silverydale are experiencing unusually high traffic tonight. She could team up with Urzal, but she’s probably not in a proper mood to talk to anyone right now, even her friends. Certainly doesn’t want to talk to *HELEN*, who is also about to hit the road and carve out her own bit of legend (though Helen herself does not yet know that, as it sounds like she and Naomi have not yet talked.)
Ryann MIGHT be willing to talk to her Mom, who is a pretty effective adventure magnet in her own right. Maybe if she hurries, she can catch up when Flannet and her turncoat (turn-permanent-itchy-latex-nightmare-suit?) DMs stop to rest the horses?
Idk, I think the former is worse. Ostensibly, what happened was she kissed him and he pushed her away and looks terribly uncomfortable with the whole thing. But if she heard the conversation, what was said implies that he has been a willing participant in the past.
Cypress and Ryann’s relationship seems (seemed?) to be just getting started, so "in the past" may well mean "before he and Ryann started falling for each other." If so, then their words here would probably make the kissing at least a little easier for Ryann to forgive…but in any case, I don’t get the impression she was close enough to hear them.
I think, if she did hear them, the situation is bad enough. If not, we should take into consideration the last panel from the previous strip too. On that one, he doesn’t seem to mind it, and we didn’t see how long were they kissing. It could have been like a second, than we could say, he pushed her away, and feels uncomfortable about it. She still could be angry at Helen- her friend, just for kissing her boyfriend. But it also could have been a minute or more, which would indicate, that he was not against the kiss. Than, even if it is clear, that he said no now, the seeds of suspicion and mistrust have been planted, for who knows how long will he refuse Helen’s advances…
…unless of course, Helen is like Scarlett O’Hara and Cypress is like Ashley Wilkes, but I seriously doubt that Ryann heard that story…
From this exchange, Bob should feel lucky he fell for Gren. If Ryann is a sampling of the Halfling reaction, he’d have been fertilizer after the Harpies
I feel like someone will impulsively run off on adventure now in a "that’ll show em!" sort of dumbery.
Seems to be working out for another halfing kind of character in another webcomic.

Well so thus ends this lil romance….
Lol, Cypress has a stalker.
Halfling death stare, take 1d10 damage.
Did she hear, or just see? Bad either way, but the latter is far worse. Either way, better get ready to take it like a man, Cypress.
Also, you are getting truly amazing at facial expressions, Rich. Like Bill Waterston or Phil Foglio amazing. <3

Cue ominous music
Dramatic Chipmunk!
(Particularly appropriate when dealing with Halflings.)

I hope it has rained recently… and the foliage is not dry…
t!

I see she arrived exactly in the right time.
You snooze – you lose.
I can’t help but wonder, whether either Helen or Cypress is by any ways related to Penweld Shadowfoot…
If the rest of Penweld’s kin get around like he does, it’s possible that there are no halflings who AREN’T related to the Shadowfoots.
Aaaaaand she saw that.
