Yeah, she kinda does.
t!
I meant ‘he’. Was thinking of the mother.

It is *not* the Coward´s Sword, right?
Courage, the Cowardly Sword? 😀
This strip makes me think of the scene in *Fellowship of the Ring* when Boromir sees the shards of Narsil.
Except that it’s intact, and in Eric the First’s case, it’s *you* looking at your *own* sword.
Thought they were talking about that teleporting sword that Valkyrie had
LOL, actually hoped the sword would be precisely the Valkyrie´s sword XD
Still hope that cursed thing would do a reapparition….
Well, if your sword is waiting for you, things can’t be that bad. 😀
Why is "Yet Another Fantasy Gamer Crossover" listed in the Chapters? I though that was done *years* ago.
Good question. Looks like a mixup when I was labelling it. Let me just take care of that now.

All fixed! When I uploaded it I accidentally uploaded it into the YAFGCrossover chapter and attempted to relabel it to Prophecy Fulfilled before publishing. HOWEVER, I must have forgotten to unclick the YAFGCrossover button because both were listed. So I’ve unclicked YAFGCrossover and now only the proper chapter title remains.
I just noticed while looking at the archive that https://yafgc.net/comic/3223-a-prophecy-2/ also has the wrong chapter.
I looked through the rest of the chapters and didn’t find any more out-of-sequence numbers.
Please tell me ‘Courage’ has a pommel shaped like a dog’s head. 😉
No. It’s shaped like a crown actually. I know where you were going with that (you’re also not the first to make that joke on this page), but Courage the sword was created long before "Courage the Cowardly Dog" was aired.
Yeah, I only noticed that after I’d posted. ^^;
But I hope it didn’t annoy you…?
I’m not sure if ‘annoyance’ is the right word for the sigh I got from it. When I deliberately make a reference to a show or comic I’m delighted when a reader picks up on it. More so if it’s an obscure reference. But when I either create a piece of world culture or as in this case, tip the hat to something a friend created from many years ago, when the readers -QUITE UNDERSTANDIBLY- link it to their own experiences there’s a hint of…. disappointment? I guess, in the idea that I or my friend didn’t get the credit for the thing created. Perhaps annoyance tinges the disappointment a bit when the mistaken reference is repeated…. It’s unfair to you, the readers, to expect you to be able to read my mind about which bits of YAFGC are references and which are not. So you carry on and ignore my reaction. You’re reading and enjoying and that’s all I really care about.Gahh, no this isn’t what I wanted to say. I’m an artist with an artist’s temperament. I get precious with my creation and rejoice when people see how brilliant I am. When they miss a joke or mistake a reference, naturally a piece of me inside stamps it’s little foot and says “NO! You’re wrong!” But if the reference is meaningful to you, keep it! If you’re going to ask me if the reference you guessed it correct, I’ll tell you. And in this case, no, I didn’t reference that particular show -which for the record, I’ve never actually watched.
So… anyway. WOOOOBBaffet!
Can understand your feeling: you insert a reference to your older playing days, maybe something of yours or a friends, you feel… chuffed, gives you a feeling of ‘niceness’, but when a reader (or ten) spot it but associate it with something else, you feel… deflated? So it’s natural for you to be a little grumpy when they got something so meaningful so wrong
Yes that. But it’s also totally unreasonable to expect anyone to ‘get’ the reference to a personal experience like that. So…. shake it off! 😀
All jokes aside, few things demonstrate more courage than a faithful hound. So it would be somewhat fitting, cartoon or no. And you are one of the few artists I know of that could carry it off without it being just a corny reference.
That said, keep the crown. Or rather, the slightly spiky bits that are just enough to make it a useful mace that resemble a crown. ♔
It sounds weird for me to say this but he shows favoritism between his swords.
Which sword? To him, the first one was ‘just a sword’, it was his son who named it, probably in honour of his father
Well, one of them is enchanted …
As for the labelling mix-up, maybe it crept in because of the Abynn mention. 😉 That does tie in with the whole "Curtain of Abynn", right?
Thought it was because of the Sword, that kept teleporting the poor Valkyrie all over the place
And so the boy got his Courage back. He’s gonna need it in the battles ahead, for his foe is none other than Ranna, a dreadful ancient and powerful goddess.
Eric the Short certainly looks up to his grandfather >.>
Just look at the smile in panel one
He’s barely 2’6" tall. He looks up to everyone.
It… was a bit of a lame joke 😛
He does have a huge grin though, he’s probably spent a fair time in front of that portrait ‘talking’ to his grandfather
Ohhh! That was … but you added….. ah yes. Never mind. 🙂 Sorry.
>.> is supposed to be ‘shifty eyes’, not sure if there is an actual smiley-code for it
Heh. Now I’m regretting I didn’t do a play on The Tragically Hip:
"Courage, my sword…" 😀
Kewlswordz!
