Two out of three agree ๐
The gold earrings were where the pirates kept their ‘cash’ back in those days, they certainly couldn’t keep it in a bank, can’t trust bankers (may seem like a joke, but it’s true, banks don’t give a crap about you, just your money, and actually charge you the privilege of letting them make interest off of your money!)
At least it’s been consistent from the start: Califf has always been ‘Al-Umbril’, Kassim and Sahar were both ‘Al Umbril’, and Adina ‘al Umbil’ (and her character tag is ‘alumbil’ whereas the others are all ‘al-umbril’)
Guessing there is a significant reason for the different spellings
No, he _was_ with them, before they bailed out (either by jumping willingly or attempting to bail the water out of the flying dinghy and falling out with the bucket ๐ )
All the ships in the Fleet of Fleets are following him. Each of them saw Fang careening off in a random direction, and had the same train of thought Safana did.
It’s one of the reasons I got so frustrated with the comments here about how difficult things were for our heroes (who are not necessarily Good Guys).
Way back when Rich was our GM, I had to explain to players whose primary experience was with cruddy G(or D)Ms: "No, you don’t get it: Rich is making it very hard so that the victory will *matter*.
And now the tide is changing, as it always must… and it is glorious.
I’ve been barked at, a few times, over my "Please stop backseat-driving" comments here and elsewhere, but as I see it…we’re here because of Rich’s amazing storytelling. Because it compels us, because it draws us in…trust in it. Let him tell his story, his way. Give him the benefit of doubt, and respect him when his vision differs from our own. Do not assume that, simply because we like his work, that if we find ourselves not-liking something he does, that it’s a sign that he’s made a mistake."
Trust the driver. Trust the route. Trust the destination. Be a good passenger; if you want to drive, it’s time to find your own car.
Rich knows what he’s doing. I am perfectly capable of telling my own stories; when I’m here, I’m here to appreciate his stories. He doesn’t need my advice on how to tell stories; if he ever does, I’m sure he’ll ask me for it.
He knows what he’s doing, and it’s awesome. I try to remember that the cries of "It’s so grueling" are an expression of how grueling it is for those who care about, and identify with, the heroes are finding it, to follow on the journey. They’re feeling the protagonists’ pain and weariness. A strange way to admit that one cares, complaining, but that’s what it is, nonetheless.
Commenting on the journey is not a comment on the driver, or, in this case, the _tour_ driver, because he’s not just driving us to a destination that only he knows, he is also showing us interesting points along the way
Some stops are interesting in themselves (like a beautiful waterfall), others are simply necessary stops to get to where we are going (restrooms or a diner)
The important thing to remember is to be respectful, to both your fellow passengers and the driver
Stories need to have an ebb and flow to them, and for quite a while it was just defeat after defeat for the "good guys" with no victories to balance it out. Pointing that out is perfectly valid criticism and you *stomping* on people who do so does no good to anyone.
Nope, don’t believe so, and we even had sighting of King Cap’n Fang not that long ago (transporting Zac and Lavena to the Northrealm, whether they wanted to go there or not ๐ )
Oh, I like that. They see everyone going one way, and they have no idea why but they are going too. Wonder how many *more* extra ships they will pick up along the way like this?
Hey, it’s them! Yay!
Wow, almost didn’t recognise Adina in panel two, married life has changed her
Adina got married? Did I miss something?
She does look older and less of a goofball, but that’s time for ya.
What? Oops! Meant ‘maritime’ life
Panel two almost has her looking like Omar: bald with big gold earrings
Omar: "They’re terribly comfortable. I think everyone will be wearing them in the future."
Two out of three agree ๐

IIRC not money in general, but the idea was that if you died and someone found your body, then it would pay for a proper burial.
She’s married to the sea!
Things are coming together…and a well-placed Princess Bride reference is always welcome.
Well, at least Adina is okay. I wonder how long it’s been since she last received news from Umbil.
Also, up until now I thought it was "Umbril", ahaha.
It IS Umbril. A quick look back at the archives show her father and brother at least as "al Umbril" … I think that’s a typo on Adina’s name.

I’m guessing it’s just a typo, but preserved consistently because character tags get auto-completed from a menu when Rich enters them.
"Thar be loot in that direction!!! And we’re getting it first!!"
But where is Captain Fang?
My dearest Boo is with Zac and Lavena

I missed that strip!
Thanks for posting!
You’re welcome! I do my best to keep track of that sexy lil Kobold
All the ships in the Fleet of Fleets are following him. Each of them saw Fang careening off in a random direction, and had the same train of thought Safana did.
Follow them, but don’t look like you’re following them. I dunno, sail casual!
Wow!
Was I excited to see this crew again.
And the momentum is really starting to build!
t!
Rich really knows how to bring the band back together, doesn’t he? Grinning madly here, too.
When do the Blues Brothers Elves show up, Jake and Elwood from Elwood City?
Oh wow, that’s it! That’s how we wake up Ch’Thier. Guys, "Turn on Your Love Light," in G. One, two, three, four….

Rich tells epic stories..and epic stories require patience.

I’ve lost track. Are we missing anyone? Besides Cap’n Fang?
Nope, don’t believe so, and we even had sighting of King Cap’n Fang not that long ago (transporting Zac and Lavena to the Northrealm, whether they wanted to go there or not ๐ )
5 silver says Fang is the one to actually kill/imprison Ranna.
Sucker bet
Such a human reaction, I can’t not laugh.
Not strictly human. My dog says she wants to go wherever all those other people are going, too.
Oh, I like that. They see everyone going one way, and they have no idea why but they are going too. Wonder how many *more* extra ships they will pick up along the way like this?
