I mean, they’re not necessarily wrong. On the scale of the occasional monster, sure they kick ass. But they know enough about the world to know that there’s an entire qualitative level above them that they’re helpless against, and of course the fact that quantity has a quality all its own. Enough ogres and stuff and eventually they’re overwhelmed.
