"Hey Turg, I got to thinking after you abandoned me to be tortured and I decided you were perfectly justified in doing so."
There’s a difference between doing something satisfying and doing something effective. This will probably bite Turg in the ass hard later; his wrath is a flaw here, same as Runt’s recklessness.
Well, I’m hoping Runt makes it out of this in one piece (with everything intact), though I can’t help wondering what’s going to happen to Turg and his children when people find out what happened to Runt and that he abandoned him (however justified he may have felt, however foolish the attempt, his son wasn’t forced into going with Runt).
If you mean this is a flash-forward to a future where a now-aged Vivay has spent decades torturing Runt, I don’t think that’s the case. Vivay is hobbling with a cane not because she’s old, but because Turg recently slammed her hard into a wall.
Going back and looking at the turgination of Vivay, yup, she slammed into the wall a good 7-10 feet off the ground, so the actual landing likely caused some damage to her hip/pelvis/femur/coccyx which would have her hobbling around on a cane for a long time barring magical healing… which doesn’t look like it took place. Initial impact wouldn’t have done her shoulders and upper back any good either.
I still can’t help but wonder about the repercussions of Turg abandoning Runt to the Rannites. Should Runt survive with his body and mind (and morality) intact, it could spell disaster for the Minotaur and his family should anyone find out and get it into their head that they want to take revenge.
Interesting. I posted this exact comment earlier today, but it was marked as pending moderator approval (and apparently did not go through), yet this one did.
Sometimes I post comments under a different name, for a joke, e.g. as one of the characters in YAFGC. That always triggers awaiting moderator approval. That’s the only time I see that. I think it’s cause the server keeps a cache of what names go with what emails. If they don’t match this cache, it triggers awaiting approval to make sure it’s not spam, I guess.
I imagine that an important moment of truth for Runt — assuming, of course, that he does survive more or less intact — will be what he chooses to say and do about Turg’s rescue mission.
He might choose to say nothing, either accepting that he had it coming, or deciding that it’s a private matter between him and Turg which he ought not to drag the whole kingdom into. And even if he does tell the truth…well, it’s sad to say, but no one loves Runt enough to take revenge into their own hands.
There are people who respect him, or at least they respect his office and the fact that he’s willing to do a hard and thankless job. If Runt declared a kingly vendetta on Turg and his family, his subjects would fight the good fight in his name. But I can’t think of a single person who would say, "You hurt Runt, and I will personally end you." Which is remarkable, because Runt is not actually a bad person, and damned near everyone else in the comic — the good, the bad, the ugly, and the insane — DOES have someone who would say that.
But yeah, the silver lining is that unless Runt has learned NOTHING from this whole mess, Turg and his family are probably safe.
Have to remember: Turg is a ‘monster’, who use to live in the evil-stronghold of the Black Mountain
There would be some who dismiss his actions as those of a beast, there would some who would understand, and there would some who would use it as an excuse to wage war on _all_ ‘monsters’ (regrettably, the last is all too common)
Unfortunately, it takes more than a hot poker to fix the Runt problem
It looks like Queen Vivay didn’t come out of that Turg-encounter unscathed 🙁
Yeah, Turg’ll leave a mark.
Read panel three with this in the background https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SywExJR4lrI
If that’s He-Man screaming again, he should change who he gets his Brazilian from next time 😛
Dangit, you beat me to it. XD
Do you think he might have learned some wisdom from all this?
Not the wisdom you’re hoping for.

I’m guessing that Vivay’s an old lady now and I don’t want to know how Runtherd got tortured.
… She’s the one who captured him, she was in the process of torturing him herself when she got Turg’d

I don’t think Ranna/Rannites are really much for this "healing" thing.
Why not? Just because they are Evil and psychotic, doesn’t mean they don’t know how effective healing can be, specially for their High Ranked leaders
The once and has no future king
Brings a whole new meaning to, doing a stretch 🙂
I enjoy the title of this one.

I tend to delete those 😛

I see, that makes sense I guess. It was early in the morning so I might’ve gotten my email wrong.
Thanks for the clarification 😀
