Oh, they are thoroughly screwed… that being said, I too hoped she was dead for good. No fun fighting an enemy that can’t be beat and is unreasonably resistant to every way you can try to harm her. I mean, Groomsh did make her the best warrior, not an indestructible demigod.
I would like to point out two things here: 1) She could be indestructible because a)she is not alive, b) get some kind of boost from Ranna when she brought her back.
2) Ranna controls the afterlife. No matter how many times Jone dies, she could just always resurrect her again. And again… And again…
I was referring to her story arc, the Jone rebellion, where nothing short of a magical equivalent of a tactical nuke could kill her, even after defying Gruumsh.
She could pose a problem. An unkillable people mangler chomping through your ranks can mess up troop movements and cause enough distraction to allow other enemy attacks to succeed.
Yes. That’s what hit me the hardest about this choice of destroyer, too. How personal it would be, for many of those on the front lines…and how easy to underestimate, for the others.
One wants to imagine that people like Michael Myers (of Haddonfield, not Wayne’s World, fame) could not possibly exist. And people like Michael Myers use this to terrible advantage.
Yep. Remember that it took a wimpy shepherd David to take out Goliath. No use having a powerful warrior who’s an easy target as your sole bet.
(A sling is an interesting weapon. Lindybeige dedicated a segment in one of his shows to Roman slings, to how Romans made lead bullets for them, and to how effective they could be. Just to point out that Goliath never stood a chance against someone who was used to shooting a sling to direct sheep all day.)
My favorite agent of chaos is kobold pirate captain. Is he around her somewhere? Besides, Ranna is evil, not chaotic. The effect of Jone can be chaotic because of the amount of destruction she can do, disrupting all sorts of efforts at order and organization, but she is not chaotic in and of herself.
Fang, in his own way, stops Jone’s rampage by convincing her that the source of all the terrible things that ever happened to her is in fact, Ranna’s fault…
… then guides her by beaning Ranna in the face with a turnip.
You see, Shaija? *That's* why it's a bad idea to attack people you don't need to. Jone looked more confused at being teleported here than anything else in panel three, but then she recognised you…
I don’t suppose they have a dragonrider or three in reserve back there?
Um, yeah. That is not a good expression. Shaija, this one’s on you.
Jone did have it coming and if she tries again…I hope this death is for good…
Hmm, will Jone remember Glon as the one who was nice to her? Or remember his wife as the one who kicked her off the cliff?
That didn’t stop her from trying to kill him last time as I recall…
If you remember that page, he *almost* had her calmed down, before she was punted off the cliff
Or both. There is a chance, that Jone (nearly) kills Shaija, then she has the most epic fight with Glon ever…
Personally, hoping she will want to have another crack at a God who thinks thy can control her
Oooh good one! Didn’t recall that!
I was wondering when someone point out she has been nothing but a pawn over and over again.
I see a Wile E. Coyote Moment coming on…
Och noooo … 🙁
Not her AGAIN! She´s just tiresome and actually boring.
Why is that?
t!
Because I don´t like "unbeatable" characters if they don´t come with some humor.
But actually it turned out good. 🙂
It sure did!
I get the impression Rich was also having trouble making her dramatically interesting.

Re point 2):
Ranna controls the afterlife … for now.
I’m sure Fate (aka our beloved storyteller) has some thoughts about that….
I do.
I was referring to her story arc, the Jone rebellion, where nothing short of a magical equivalent of a tactical nuke could kill her, even after defying Gruumsh.
This does raise the question of how much Ranna has pissed off Groomsh. When Ranna tells Jone to attack, it’s Ranna’s army that gets decimated instead.
Didn’t Ranna eat Gruumsh?
That’s what I thought, too…
Decimated? I’m pretty sure Jone would kill more than 1 in 10 in the army. The word you want is Devastated. So many people confuse those two words.
This is one of those "Flip a coin" situations. Jone has never been all that predictable. 50/50 she goes after Ranna first.
Oh dear. I had a feeling we’d be seeing her again.
As opposed to me; I OUGHT to have had that same feeling, but until she showed up, I’d forgotten about Jone. I feel so ashamed…. >p
Has anyone got a spare planet to drop on this thing? On second thoughts, I’m not sure that’d be enough.
Her most powerful warrior is Jone Half-Orc?
She could pose a problem. An unkillable people mangler chomping through your ranks can mess up troop movements and cause enough distraction to allow other enemy attacks to succeed.
She’s a decoy that costs Ranna nothing.
To say nothing of the psychological torture for those who have history with her. Ranna’s into that kind of thing.
t!

No. Just her favorite. And that’s revealing…and disturbing.

Check her tag again. It says clearly Goddes of Chaos and Cruelty.
Awwwww. . . that’s so cute. . . she’s purring like a kitty!!
Quick, give Jone some orcnip!
There will be blood
Jone vs Fang.
thoughts?
That would frustrate Jone beyond imagination… 🙂
Fang makes Jone’s head go KABOOM!
Fang make Jone pull MAD FACE!
Smash up stuff big time.
Teapot, half a mo’. Whoops, that’s Mr Onion. Have you seen my cabbage?
The trees are singing to the fishes now. It’s Monday divided by Tuesday. Time for cake.
Fang, in his own way, stops Jone’s rampage by convincing her that the source of all the terrible things that ever happened to her is in fact, Ranna’s fault…

I love you all so much!!
Let’s hear it for our next contestant.
Hey, kiddo. Been a while.
