Yes they were already there, but what you and the ‘good guys’ couldn’t see was the mages and priestesses getting ‘into position’ behind the lines of undead soldiers for the magical strikes.
Well, that was stupid of Califfa. Now he’s given everyone hope that Ranna’s powers of Gorgonism can be reversed, totally undermining Ranna’s power and authority. Might is right, until it’s exposed for the sham it is.
I think you mean Kurassa. The Califfa is the priestess-wife of the ruler of Umbril. I agree though. Also, when you already have an army, and were expecting mage support, more army does not necessarily fill the gap.
Right, she has been trying for years now to find a way to de-tree him. I think she has grown up enough that she will just be glad that her sister is herself again, and won’t be jealous at all. I mean, really, would you be jealous of someone who was turned into a mind-slaved Rannite gorgon, and had managed to free herself (according to Kurassa), but was now in a dungeon?
I think I recall her older sister was often away, and being so much older, Adina would feel much closer to her father. Not to mention, Rich would choose to show different people’s reactions with so many to choose from, probably. Trying to show everyone’s would dilute the focus and intensity.
I am soooo loving and hating this diversion from ranna’s outcome. Most authors would just get into the battle, but these "diversions/info leaks/etc." Are fasnating and fun and once again highlight the brilliance and draw. π
I believe Adina was not even aware, that her sister was gorgonised. Considering, that lately she was barely at home, and that Safana and her crew didn’t know where all the other ships were sailing, there is a good chance they didn’t know about the Rannite mess until they caught up with the "army of armies".
Not sure if we have ever seen Kurassa and Vachiritei in the same page before, so never noticed that about them before: are they from the same place and maybe know each other?
The presence of a question mark is the only reason I’m going to reply to this particular piece of classic Guesticus gibberish. But before I can explain, first answer me this: What the hell are you saying? No, Kurassa and Vachiritei have never been on the same page before. Kurassa is a Sinbad-movie-inspired-Arabian-Knights evil wizard and Vachiritei is a warrior maiden from across the sea in a land inpsired by Mongolia. What makes you think these two have anything in common at all?
Well, damn. That had totally whooshed past me, too.
Vachiritel: "It’s a linguistic quirk! I don’t know that man, and I wouldn’t want to. Look at him; you can TELL he consorts with demons. And not silly brainless…um, HARMless ones, either! No offense, Eeshie."
It totally is! When I created these characters I did a little bit of research into Arabic (very low-grade, google translate/sounds-close-enough-for-fantasy) to name his city. And when I created Vachiritei’s culture it was a totally different language I was researching/emulating. So, as Guesticus pointed out, Kurassa comes from Haran, a city in Umbil, and Vichiritei is one of the Harani people. And I never caught this.
Ummm, weren’t the armies of Umbril already lined up on Ranna’s side? I may have missed something along the way.
Basically yes, only dagmars lover yarrick let Arachne go since he did not really like the idea apparently

Wondering what happened to Yarrick, given his last interaction with Dagmar…
The Amazonian Gnolls joined the Rannites & regarding the other consistant comic, Glon really is having a good time with ladies.

It’s only stupid if you assume he didn’t do it deliberately.
Doing it deliberately doesn’t make it not stupid.

Oh, damn it. I have dyslexia and can’t remember names. Thanks for correcting me.
He’d rather people think Ranna’s powers can be reversed than for her to know that HE was the one who did the reversing!
Vanessa must be so very proud of Sahar right now.
We know the pre-Mirror Adina would have been so jealous of Sahar at this point. Wonder how much of bratty Adina exists in her right now….?
Believe that’s more a gasp at the knowledge that her daddy has been de-treed, rather than her sister is her normal self again

And I see Glon has switched to the tactic of divide and conquer. π
All’s fair in love and war.
A skeleton in the chamber, and behind the other three, a Viper of some sort.
I do admit my own D&D knowledge is somewhat limited, but considering I’ve seen how quick a Black Mamba can strike in real life.
Kurassa’s face has healed nicely.
Someone should fix that.
t!
I’m sure Adina will attend to that, as she’s on the ground along with Kurassa. She’ll probably throw a stone at him.
wasn’t dagmar locked in a dungeon? I thought her boyfriend took over.
Which is where the ‘liberated’ part comes in π

Ah, I think I caught what heβs saying: they both have βHaranβ in their tags.
…. Well shit. I actually never noticed that. I lob an apology at Guseticus.

Yes, that was what caught my eye: whereas Kurassa is from the *City* of Haran, Vachiritei is *an* Haran (one indicating a place, the other a people)
An… an Aardgnoll army?
Pffft~! ^_^ They’re dumber than Kobolds are crazy!
You don’t need to be smart to know that the sharp bit goes in the squishy part.
