She likely reflexively flinched as Eric’s sword went through her hand, and didn’t smack him down with full force.
But then Runt also smacked her hand further downβ¦
…and apparently right where Eric I’s body would be under Ranna’s hand, too…
Eric’s already dead, mind.

I have no idea if Eric’s going to survive that. I have no idea if Runt will survive *that*. And the action isn’t going to slow down long enough for me to catch my breath.

Haven’t been on a rollercoaster in ages, but this is re-creating the adrenaline rush perfectly.
I can see how a sword through the hand will hurt, but if you really want to turn that pain up to 11, stick the blade under a fingernail. This probably counts as a ‘prophecy fulfilled’ moment for Eric I too.
Pain isn’t the objective, damage is.
The objective (at least initially) seems to be to keep Ranna and her minions occupied while Eddie and the mages gather energy for their trap.
Ch’thier’s appearance is just gravy π
If nothing else, this is also a nice distraction for other foes to step up. Maybe Beholder King will come back, or what’s left of Lolth will sneak up and bite her.
So why am I seeing Ranna getting stigmata even if it wasn’t unintentional?

Ah, gotcha. I wasn’t sure what the proper verb would be to emphasize that Runt is able to do staggeringly powerful jumps while clad in armor.
I always liked that kid. Delusional, maybe, unlucky in love, definitely, but very sympathetic.
Apparently it’s about as heavy and restrictive as American Football padding, or ice hockey gear. Infantry plate (as opposed to jousting plate) had more room at the joints, relying on the quilted undercoat to protect from blunt trauma.
According to one museum armorer, the plate was made light because weight was an issue, so the cuirass would be stringer than, say, the greaves. This meant they would often absorb damage by denting, rather than letting the blow pierce.

Two quotes come to mind:
1) If it bleeds, we can kill it.
2) Give it stats, and the players will find a way to kill it.
Preach!
Giving stats to monsters and NPCs makes players think they’re there for them to kill.
All I can think of is *ouch*. First the ankle, now the hand. Thing is – I don’t even bat an eye at beheadings and such but THIS is exactly the level of injury close enough to experience that it makes me cringe in sympathy.
Well, you wouldn’t feel it if they cut your head off – not for long anyway. It’s just, lights out.

We know Eric’s blade, Courage, can injure gods, since it’s done so before…is Runt packing similar hardware, or does his blow hurt Ranna through sheer anger and force of will?
No, he’s just making a breathing hole for Eric. π
And this is why growing to huge size is less useful one might think. You’re easy to hit, and you might have a hard time hitting smaller targets.
And as shown in the last strip, it leaves really big gaps where your armor isn’t!
And they aren’t even using the nastiest tactic against colossal foes: cutting your way in, and then slicing them apart from the inside.
Yet.
If I was a God, I wouldn’t include pain receptors.
Just saying. π
Being warned you are taking damage is extremely useful. Just … doesn’t need to keep informing you all the time when damage was already taken.
Now 1 of her hands are pinned to the ground.
Or at least pinned to Eric.

Rich, your color art look magnitud better then you also include shadows. Recognize most of the caracter, but who is the bartender and the fox? Is it the "peopel who order the picture" or future yafgc caracters?
After I did posted I did see T-chall Fox avatar….
Lord Dave and T’Chall are both referencess to above reader "T-Chall", but they’ve also been involved in the comic itself for a while now. It was Lord Dave who summoned the ‘Azure Osprey’ to come and pick everyone up from Elwood City. Lord Dave has been seen as far back as the "Mountain Quest" story where he was the bartender who couldn’t get Grog for the Dwarf. He and his Pooka-Fox partner show up from time to time in the strip.
It was Dave/T-Chall who invented the character of Caelin who represented him at the Bardic Challenge waaay back.
What do the baner say, I can read "Happy pride month" somthing "all of us" somthing.

What a lovely commission <3 Now I kinda want to see one with the female couples: Charlotte/Queen Lotharia, Arachne/Jais and MOST IMPORTANTLY Naomi Phoenix/Alys Leddinstone (because there’s way too few middle-aged/older lesbian couples).
Did I forget someone? Or do we really have two thirds of the lesbian couples with at least one dead partner right now? Now I kinda made myself sad π

I agree! And I’d be really down with that. But I’m knee-deep in paid commissions atm and unless someone’s willing to shell out cash for it, I probably should be responsible and stick with the stuff people are paying for. π

Wait, there were only three so far? That can’t be right.
Real couples – yeah I think so. There was TONS of flirting/casual sex between pretty much any female drow and any good looking female they encountered.
There is another one that’s sort of a stealth couple. It was never made explicit or shown to develop "on screen". But it’s canon.
*OH* and there’s one that’s in the early stages of development currently.
I’m sure there must be more.
Now my curiosity is peaked. Can’t wait to see those future developments.
