I did forget about her… But I’m glad to see her again, and for some reasons it makes me happy, that not all gorgons are rannites. But don’t ask me why.
I wonder though, how did Nelusse avoid to get stoned?
I always liked Nelussa, and was hoping she hadn’t gone Rannite. (She was, after all, a gorgon all along, not a victim of Ranna’s brainwash-and-snake atrocities.)
I wasn’t expecting to see her on this battlefield, though. I hope she can avoid friendly fire. Maybe she ought to grab some kind of snake-concealing headgear? ("But you promisssed we’d never have to go in the bag again!")
I’m wondering if a True Gorgon (like Nelusse) are more resistant (or immune) to the gaze of a turned Gorgon?
Would explain why the (hobgoblin? going by the ears and height) gorgon didn’t affect her.
That would be my explanation, that a true gorgon’s gaze is stronger (thus affecting the hobgoblin) and also her resistance is stronger.
Or to say it simply: the better gorgon won.
Well, Torvid and his people were (and are) devout Ch’Thierian’s, and were, as you said, raised before Ranna came back
And it’s possible the ones Ranna raised were her fallen soldiers
Torvid and his crew were revived with some powder meant to make the decapitated heads suffer more, which meant it was specifically something that would not turn them into mindless slaves, but instead make them keep their free will.
So yea, the Rannites really got hoisted by their own petard, there.
That does beg a question: do Gorgons receive any sensory input from their snakes, like scent/pheremone detection? Do Gorgons snakes have functional Jacobson’s organs? Can this data be transferred in a meaningful way to the human brain of the Gorgon?
I just read an adventure in the 3.5 Ghostwalk book that featured a medusa whose humanoid eyes were blinded but could function normally due to her snake hair sensory input.
Nice to see Charlotte without Ranna’s parasitic mind onboard, too. In-universe, I have no clear idea whether her body or mind were still salvageable, but here’s hoping…
Also, Naomi and Alys are cute together. Halflings are like cats: whatever the scale of the furniture, they’re always perfectly comfortable on it.
Totally agree, that is some high-quality imagery that just jumps right out at you.
Also agree about the chars; I actually miss Charlotte more than Arachne, and I have NO idea why. Maybe its because Charlotte could double the value of any Harem in the world just by being part of it….
Maybe she’s also ogling Lucas’ and Cadugan’s pretty backside. She does appreciate beauty in many forms after all, even if love is a thing reserved for females 😉
Thanks from the bottom of my heart for this companion piece. It’s every bit as lovely as I had hoped <3
Aww, our friendly (?) gorgon is sweet on the barbarian.
Did a quick review of he previous time in the comic, she may have already been sweet on him by the time they escaped the dungeon. And is glad to see him again.
Is that a snake on your head, or are you just glad to see me?
I wonder what NotZilla was aiming at in panel 1? The angle of fire suggests something that was its own size, as opposed to exterminating nearby hordes of enemy foot-soldiers, or blasting the currently supine Ranna.
Maybe that colossal bunny Meegs conjured up once upon a time has arrived?
I had to go back to remember that medusa. Now that I have I really want to make a love at first sight joke, but Brandor never really saw her beyond boobs.
You missed my point. I want to say I was making a joke, but going for mild amusement might be stretching that word a bit much. It seems I failed even that.
Was wondering if we’d see her again, but I did not expect her to be AGAINST the Rannites.

Though maybe she’s not specifically against Ranna and more she’s for Brandor judging by the little kiss she gave him.
Can’t it be both?

I also forgot about her.
Maybe because Nelussa is a born Gorgon, and the Rannites were turned into Gorgons? An artificial copy does not have the strength of the original.
Interesting that Torvid managed to avoid Ranna’s magic. Seems that any undead that existed before Ranna raised hers was safe.

All’s fair in love and war.
t!
I love the one snake at Nelussa’s jaw who seems (to me) curious about this mouth-touch-thing going on. <3
"You have to get that close to get someone’s scent with your tongue?"
That does beg a question: do Gorgons receive any sensory input from their snakes, like scent/pheremone detection? Do Gorgons snakes have functional Jacobson’s organs? Can this data be transferred in a meaningful way to the human brain of the Gorgon?
It would be an explanation for why they can sense invisible creatures in some editions.

… you think Gorgon "main" brain is completely human?
Good point! That was an assumption on my part, just based on percentage of the exterior package.
This arc is saving a lot of old characters
Hopefully not to just kill them off 🙁
Good to see Levena and Zac having a ‘swinging’ time (looks like they are playing golf :D)
That dragon(?) in the second panel almost looks like a fire-breathing vulture 😀
Good to see that one of the wyrms did turn.
Umm, no, NotZilla did
Rich, you did a fantastic job on the follow up picture! Happy Pride Month! ?????
Arachne looks weirdly peaceful. I think she’s enjoying retirement.

I guess being dead is a form of retirement.
Well, after being killed and then tortured in Ranna’s afterlife, she probably deserves some tranquil moments of peace.
He really did. Though I’ve got something in my eye… ??
Now we know who Lucas and Cadugan were looking at 😀
It’s beautiful. Thank you both, so much, for both of these.
He did indeed. Thank you too for working things out with Rich – and happy pride month
Thank you, and happy pride month. ???️??
Brandor!!! Great return!! and kissed too at last!!!!
Interesting. Different breeds of gorgon have different resistances?
That has to be real dangerous on the battlefield, though. Hard not to stone your allies, and she’d likely be targeted by the good guys, too.
Still, I’m sure she knows her stuff. 🙂
Just to be clear, I’m not the only one here has the final battle theme from Wizards’ playing in their head when reading the comic these days right?
It hasn’t been, but a good choice.
It’s also nice to meet another fan of "Wizards." That movie is one of the big reasons why I’m a fan of elves.
What can I say. It was a pretty decent movie. And the music has stuck with me to this day.
YOU KILLED FRITZ!

Please a half assed gorgon meets a real gorgon Xp
Woo! Battle On!

Rather than equal size, it might be airborne. There are many dragons on Ranna’s side.
If it was that giant bunny, I hope the next thing the bunny said after being flamed was, "Of course you know, this means war!"
I had to go back to remember that medusa. Now that I have I really want to make a love at first sight joke, but Brandor never really saw her beyond boobs.
I wouldn’t go that far. They seemed to build a kind of rapport over their brief alliance, and parted on a note of mutual regard.
You missed my point. I want to say I was making a joke, but going for mild amusement might be stretching that word a bit much. It seems I failed even that.
And thus they fought. Kaiju to kaiju,
Undead to undead, back to back.
Facepalm to snake, snake to stone.
Lips to lips, smooch and smack.
Ok, "lips to lips" is stretching the truth a bit, but "lips to cheek" might give some people the wrong idea about how this epic battle was fought.
Nelussa really does have the hots for Brandor.
Is that Rodan?
