It’s awkward and weird until you see Gaggia and Shaija frantically encouraging her in the second to last panel!

Nice to see marriages of political convenience/necessity…*can* take feelings into account. (Though with Glon, I suspect lust is equally if not more prevalent.) 😉
Hogga has never looked more beautiful/adorable than she has here–partly because this is the most we’ve ever seen of her face/head/hair this close up. Her first appearances had all that "princess hat" stuff in the way.
As usual, the expressions are top notch, which is what sells the whole thing.
This is why you don’t ever have to explain yourself.

And…review of the strips shows my view wasn’t nearly as obstructed as I thought it was. Damn you, traitorous memory!
It never fails–you have the most detailed picture in your mind of a book cover, or whatever–you finally see it again–and you have never been so completely, utterly *wrong*.
Hahah, I get that myself sometimes. I’ll remember that I’ve never drawn a character without a hat before, then after I’ve done a new one, I’ll be researching something and find out that I actually HAD drawn it before and it was different.
This is so cute! Glon has changed so much since he was a teenager. He’s matured. That he’s so shy about proposing to Hogga is adorable.
Well done Rich! The little glimpses of Gaggia and Shaija in a couple of panels is a nice detail.
Whatever happened to Ibkis, anyway? It’s been a while, so I forget, and the last comic in the archives that comes up with her tag was them getting zapped by Bob.
Oh nothing happened to her. Thing is, despite her being the strongest and least friendly-looking of Glon’s wives, she’s actually the den mother and war isn’t really her thing. She stayed behind to guard the children with Maula.
Then Glon and the Queens have been thinking over this question for some time. (I assume they’d have talked to Ibkis before saying anything to Hogga.)
I’m guessing it was that pandemic-special gaming session — and especially the way Hogga united the team against their True Enemy — that cemented their decision.
Talking about Ibkis, it would be nice to see her a bit more or be at least part of a small storyline instead of just a background character.
So far, Gaggia is the most developed of the wifes and has participated in soem adventures, while the other two stayed home.
I was really happy when the story focussed more on Shaija and even shed some light on her feelings about Glon being part human.
Ibkis, so far, is a named background character.
I know, with Ibkis being the den mother, it’S a bit difficult to put her in any adventure, but I’m curious if she’s also a good maternal figure to Gaggia’s children. It’S also interesting to know if this has any effect on the relationship between Gaggia and Ibkis. Though all things considered, all four of them get along very good.
Just my five cents on the matter. I’m sorry if was rude.
That being said, seeing more of Gaggia would be awesome,t oo. She’s easily one of my favourite characters in the comic. 🙂
And last but not least, happy holidays.
I, for one, will always welcome any member of Glon’s family getting the spotlight.
Awww Glon’s blushed face is kind of adorable the way he’s asking. His wives waves were just as cute.

Lol. I love how Glon is totally into this idea. The reason he is so nervous is because he really wants it isn’t it? He is just all like. "Oh hell yes!" XD
It’s not yet a "yes." But Glon just seems glad it’s not a "Hells no; what are you even THINKING?"
(Perhaps because some of the things he and the ladies are thinking are…less than dignified?)
My take is that it’s not "yes" yet but it’s better answer than Glon feared.
She needs time to draw up the (extensive) contract.
A political marriage is one thing, but a political COMMUNAL marriage may be something else again! It all depends on how Hobgoblin society views such things Have we seen much of their domestic structure before?

And I note that at least one of Broch’s wives appears to be an orc, so “mixed” marriages seem to be okay in both their cultures.

I did end up getting a bit too busy to continue it. Shame it was just getting good, too. I might play with it some more later on.

Okay, I’ll second that too (three?) even if the idea of DND people playing DND makes my spinal column itch, just a little.
(sorry about the qualtity of my posts lately, but 2020 has left me scared for life, if this year wasn’t ready to end I would be ready to end myself)

I’ve spent 30+ years more-or-less successfully fighting off depression and I’ve needing all that practice in the last 18 months. Always happy to share things that have worked for me (would recommend CBT and mindfulness as probably useful techniques to almost anyone struggling to cope mentally).
Thanks Rich for continuing to keep us all entertained through your own tough year too.

Huh…seems like it may be complicated. Would they both still technically be independent rulers, just allied by marriage? Or would they try and merge their kingdoms? She’s got the right idea thinking it over.

Didn’t Hogga lose part of her ear (not just a cut)? Or was that the horn on her helmet she had lost (which is easier to replace/fix)?

Found it (it was further back than I thought), and it *was* just one of her horns she had lost and a knick in her ear
Whatever *did* happen to her mother? The semi-rightful new Goblin Queen (or does inheritance pass to niece not sister-in-law?)
For a guy who dreaded the idea if marrying for political reasons its lovly that Glon legitimatly cares for all of his wives and is now nervious to ask a new one to join

Hey, it’s not like this would be the first time Glon had a wife with about double his I.Q., but I do think that the In-Laws are going to be a serious issue.

…and his potential mother-in-law could not politic her way out of a wet paper bag. She’s a figurehead at most, and may not even be that, since Glon openly addresses Hogga as Queen of her people.

Aww! Even though I really liked Runt’s potential with Hogga, I have to admit that I was sorta wondering a while back about Glon, and then with the strip D&D it all sorta cemented somewhere in the back of my head — now I’m really hoping that Hogga says yes! 🙂
