Saturday night, January 9th, at 8pm Eastern Time, join Vixen Littlepaw, Str8SavageMel, and Doll147 on Creator’s Corner On The Flipside, as they interview Richard Morris. They will be discussing his current projects including his webcomic “Yet Another Fantasy Gamer Comic,” as well as past projects such as his work in the television animation industry and his Doctor Who graphic novel “The Ten Doctors.”
Thank you, I really wanted to see what happened with the undead Captains. Hopefully they can help to improve the lives of several of the decedents of Glamor that they have found. I am a bit confused though, Queen Glamor is listed, but is she the skull? If so, then who is the lone young woman? Also, are the other pairs just huddled close together, or are we looking at three individuals with two heads each? Forgive me if I am not seeing that right, it just looked that way to me. If so, that is an interesting turn of events. Given the royal heritage, and orc blood, I wonder if some of them will be welcomed at Glon’s very open-minded court. Having an undead guardian never hurts.
Yes, I believe we are seeing three pairs of two-headed individuals (Mia and Rod are the mixed heads… very unusual, never seen that before, and the FitzGlamor’s are the two in the cave), only the first one seems to be unnamed
Well going by process of elimination the young lady in panels 7 and 8 is Captain Xer. The two-headed person in 11 and 12 is Mia and Rod Ironspine while the two two-headed people in the last few panels are the FitzGlamors.
Presumably at some point one or more of Glamor’s descendants married an ettin, hence the two-headed people being some mix of ettin, human and orc (at a minimum).
Fang Fangirl! Adeon gets a cookie! Well done!
Ah, that makes much more sense now! Thanks. 🙂 Given we had Captain Torvid Mak, and other undead from his group there, I just assumed that Captain Xer was one of those other undead. Sorry.
Is the couple in panels 11 and 12 an Orc couple with the woman looking over the man’s shoulder or an Orc-Ettin mix?
They’re an extremely rare, very odd, two-headed, two-sexed, very large Orc. (Presumably with Ettin blood, yup.)
Fitz-someone can be used as a surname for the illegitimate children of said someone, often by nobles, IIRC. So the FitzGlamors are presumably a descendant of a bastard child of Glamor
I had to go back and look this up…
And thanks for the "related" links, I hope everyone makes good use of those.
So, I get it now!
He’s looking up the bloodline, and offering his protection
Looks as if he found a few that could really use it, too.
Unfinished business can be a curse and a blessing at the same time, eh?
Since she’s listed among the characters, I assume the skull on the post was ex-queen Glamor’s?
Wait, she was *executed*, after fleeing to the Goblinlands? By whom? And does their line need a smiting?
That means her daughter survived? At least long enough to have (a) child(ren)
In comic 3147, Leland states Glamor reigned from 6-536 to 6-560, the point from when I presume she’s exiled from Elegrost. So, assuming the date on the tombstone is correct, she survived in the Goblin Lands for 25 years before being executed. If she survived that long, her daughter probably did too (and would have had ample time to settle down and spawn descendents).
Still raises the question of who executed her, and why
She has terrible judgement and no sense of self preservation. That’ll get you killed eventually no matter what group you’re with.
I find it strange that 1 of the Ettins has a female head even though it’s a male.
Ettin! *That’s* the name I couldn’t remember, thank you
Or, maybe they have a male head even though they are female 😛
And fairly sure that they are ‘Orcin’, because all six heads are clearly orc (well, four orcs and two goblin) 🙂
Thank you, I could not for the life of me remember what the two-headed people were called, and glad I wasn’t just imagining that it was two heads on one body. Though I had thought that most Ettins were more like identical conjoined twins, and could not be opposite genders. Still, magic, and all. It looked like the female side had a breast, so the whole body may be split-gender. Given their clearly mixed race background (Orc-Ettin, among other things), they may have been subject to discrimination by both Orcs and other Ettins. I hope we see more of these people in the future and find out. 🙂
And the first one, the one unnamed, seems to have been expecting trouble, why else open the door holding a sword extended like that?
She looked out a window and saw the undead coming up her path? That would be reason enough for most to answer the door with a sword!
Why do you think she’s unnamed?
When Eolhin mentioned the undead Captains in the first post, I assumed that the other undead in panel five was Xer, I was wrong
And, if you looked out your window and saw an undead walking up to your door, that would be a reason *not* to open your door, at all 😛
When there’s a knocking on your door / at night, don’t lose your head! / Redemption’s what he’s looking for: / He’s the repenting dead.

The Goblinlands Truth and Reconciliation Commission is underway, I see…
I want Lurg’s story!
The guy is into lore to such an extent he’s *totally unphased* when ages-old undead pop in for a browse.
"Um… that coin hasn’t been accepted since… er… tell you what, just feel free to flip through whatever you want."
t!
He’s possibly an acquaintance of the Little Librarian, possibly Torvid mentioned his name, or promised to fill in a few ‘blanks’ or clear up some discrepancies
Hahahha… "Oh, you’re… a dead guy, hunh? A whole unit of dead people. Well, information is for everyone I guess…"
You never know. His first reaction could have been like this too:
"You were sent by Lewie, right? Tell him, if he wants something, he should first move his skeletal @ss here, and pay his debts. No more credits!"
Oh yeah! And Lurg is clearly visible, and looking amazingly unconcerned. Should be listed in the character list.
Ooo, can’t see who knocked on Xer’s door, or who entered the cave, but the one who knocked on Mia and Rod’s door is not Torvid!
Hmm, four undead guards, three visits, Tovid will make his visit tomorrow? Maybe greet Glon and family when they return?
Yeah, I only named Captain Torvid Mak and the others in his company are not named. It is supposed to be that his group split up to find information and track down as many decendants as they could.
If I recall correctly, He was going off on the search alone & ordered the rest of his unit to stay behind & help the city. (& we also saw them in the great battle)
# 3175 Royal Fare Thee Wells
Yes that’s true. But that was before he was called back to participate in the Big Battle. He joined his unit for that, then once things appeared more peaceful in Elegrost, they all went up to continue the search.
Thanks; it’s hard to tell them apart & I thought it was the same guy in each panel
A great way to seed potential storylines for future tales.
And rivals to the throne(s) 😀
Ah, gentlemen. May your missions bring you peace, and comfort to those you find. <3
If you’re going to have a title on your tombstone, "The Troublemaker" is a good one to have.
However to actually earn that title you shouldn’t be UNDER that tombstone.
… wait … "really earn" sounds closer to what I meant …
I’m sure they won’t call you that unless you earned it. What’s that saying? History doesn’t remember the well behaved.
It seems the next family tree to chart would be the FitzGlamor line, charting the descendants of Princess Sharc FitzGlamor and the orc, ettin, and human spouses of those descendants. 🙂
Umbril royal family first please!
Per the Little Librarian, Queen Glamor’s reign ended in 6-560, and the Capt. said they "spent the next year on the run" before h was killed & she was exiled. So, if she was executed in 6-585, she had 24 years to do whatever she was doing before they got fed up with her. Plenty of time for a flashback story to take place in!
Oh so THAT'S what you look like in real life, Richard?
Heh… actually you're pretty much exactly as I imagined you looking at your avatar all these years.
Round face, brown, fuzzy chin, four eyes, big smile. 😀
