I toyed with it last year, it worked just fine and you can even rig up an audio connection that makes things work a lot quicker. The chat-scroll got hung-up on me a couple of times.

The DM can also manipulate the map, block things out until ready to show it to the group as a whole. You also should shrink the avatars to get a broader view of the map. The dice are okay, but they seem to roll low a lot. Over all, its a sweet little system.

Then I got an Apple, and things started to get twitchy, haven't tried it much since then.
