Hey guys. I'm trying to find some music from the 60's to put on my X-box 360 for when the ingame music in Fallout New Vegas gets boring.

Example: As soon as I saw the trailer, I knew I would have to put in Elivs crooning 'Viva, Las Vegas'.

Is that one of those games that increase in speed and difficulty depending on the tempo of the music you download in to it?

We were discussing those games at a wedding reception on Saturday. (Yes, that's the kind of weddings that I go to. There were two wedding cakes, and one was a dalek <g>)

I hadn't heard of them before, and the fellow who brought it up couldn't think of the name of the game - but I immediately suggested Bohemian Rhapsody. The rapid change of pace in the zombies, mincing to 'little high/little low/will you let me go' to the charge 'Basmislla! No! We will not let you go!' would be great fun .. .and pretty much took over the conversation till I requested a slice of the dalek cake, and we discovered it had real fudge in the middle. :choccake:

Ooooh, the possibilities. I demand you include Saturday Night's All Right For Fighting. Mustang Sally would be good if you need a slow down. If you want to amp it up, dial up The Killer.

I always think of Motown when I think of 60s music. The Miracles, the Marvelettes, The Supremes, the Temptations, Gladys Knight and the Pips... There are a few pretty good 'Motown top hits' compilations floating around out there with the obvious choices ('Shop Around,' 'Please Mr. Postman,' etc.)

Have you already included Kung Fu Fighting ? (technically it was 1974, but still - and Band on the Run could slip too in if you let that one in)

"Help" by the Beatles would be 60s tho. In fact here's a list of good ones I grabbed off a 1960's list.

Hey Jude, The Beatles 1968
I Can't Get No) Satisfaction, The Rolling Stones 1965
Light My Fire, The Doors
The Twist, Chubby Checker 1960
The House Of The Rising Sun, The Animals
The Sounds Of Silence (for a particularly slow turn) Simon & Garfunkel
(Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay, Otis Redding
Paint It, Black, The Rolling Stones
Respect, Aretha Franklin
Penny Lane, The Beatles (just for juxtaposition of mood)
I'm A Believer, The Monkees
and of course Downtown, Petula Clark
The Lion Sleeps Tonight, The Tokens
Turn! Turn! Turn!, The Byrds
She Loves You, The Beatles
It's Now Or Never, Elvis Presley *Are You Lonesome To-night, Elvis Presley (if you're just in a Presley mood, otherwise I'd suggest Hound Dog. Or even Stuck On You if cornered)

Honky Tonk Woman, The Rolling Stones
You've Lost That Loving Feeling, The Righteous Brothers
In My Life, The Beatles
A Day In The Life, The Beatles
Can't Buy Me Love, The Beatles

Sugar Sugar, The Archies (when you just want to bait the bad guys)
Runaway, Del Shannon (retreat! retreat!)
This would be a good set up song: I Heard It Through The Gravevine, Marvin Gaye

God Only Knows, The Beach Boys (I don't know this song, but I love the title and found it in a list of sixties hits)

Running Bear, Johnny Preston (another song I dont know, but it's got Running in the title <g> 1960

Aquarius/Let The Sun Shine In, The Fifth Dimension
All You Need Is Love, The Beatles
Leader Of The Pack, Shangri-Las
Wild Thing, The Troggs
A Hard Day's Night, The Beatles
I Got You Babe, Sonny & Cher (if you have to have Sonny & Cher, and are feeling cornered)
Stop In The Name Of Love, The Supremes
Hit The Road Jack, Ray Charles
Louie Louie, The Kingsmen (because you should never miss a chance to party to Louie Louie)
She's Not There, The Zombies (It's by the Zombies, man!)
The Loco-Motion, Little Eva
Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini, Brian Hyland
Can't Help Falling In Love, Elvis Presley
Yellow Submarine, The Beatles
It's My Party, Lesley Gore (I think the song is hilarious for a game, and that's got nothing to do with the fact that Gore is the last name)

Can't Take My Eyes Off You, Frankie Valli (escape parts of games)

Somethin' Stupid, Nancy Sinatra & Frank Sinatra (I never heard of it, but it was a 1967 hit and it sounds crazy enough to be gaming to. "These Boots Are Made For Walking by Nancy Sinatra is a natural tho.

M'reem: No. It is not a rythym based game.

Rather, Fallout is an rpg, taking place in a Golden Age version of a post-nuclear wasteland. The first two games took place in California. The third games main storyline took place in Washington, DC. And this one, obviously, takes place in Nevada.

So far, I know the game has "I have spurs (that jingle, jangle)", and "Blue Moon".

Too bad it's not a rhythm driven game, that sounds fun.

I agree that Elvis, Frankie and the rat pack would be the best theme oriented singers <g>

A lot of music from the 60's really don't have the weight for Fallout, I feel. You'd be best off going for the psychedelic rock that emerged. Cream definitely, some Led Zeppelin and Hendrix.
