sadly, when one is surrounded by stupid, the one who sees clearly is considered delusional.
The king should make Bledding his chief advisor. Or maybe his fool, fools used to have the privilege of free speech before the king.
Of course they only had that because what they said could be dismissed at leisure.
It takes an extreme level of diplomacy to get a king to laugh at himself. Rolling a critical failure could still wind up having a jester’s mouth sewn shut, if not outright beheaded.
